1. Positions and functions

Department of Information and Communication, a specialized authority under Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee, performs advisory function, helps Provincial People’s Committee to carry out the state management over the press; publication, printing, release; broadcasting; electronic information; external information; basic information; postal; telecommunication; radio frequency; information technology industry; IT applications; network information security; electronic transactions, digital transformation in the province area.

Department of Information and Communication has its own legal status, seal and account; works under the direction and management of organization, payroll and works of the Provincial People's Committee; and at the same time works under the direction, inspection and specialized guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications.
